Irrigation Boom

Features;

  • Strong British construction
  • Fully galvanised
  • 50m watering width
  • Three stage folding boom that wraps round the Irrigator hose reel for easy transportation
  • Nelson pressure regulated spray jets or rotators configured to suit flow rates so that a constant even amount of water is disributed the full width of the boom, as well as regulating droplet size to suit the requirements of the soil and crop
  • Manoeuvres between fields and within the field can be completed by one man and tractor reducing labour costs
  • Turntable so that the boom can handle angled headlands and obstacles in the field

Advantages of Boom Irrigation;

  • Water loss usually caused by drift is reduced with water being applied direct to the crop
  • Size of the droplets can be controlled, small droplets to prevent soil and crop damage or larger droplets can be selected to reduce drift
  • High flow rates allow faster retraction allowing large areas to be covered in less time
  • Uniform water application through a boom gives far more even crop growth compared to that of a normal rain gun system
  • Low operation pressure resulting in less wear on pipeline and components
